Tour d'Orphans
Thank you to all of the riders, donors and corporate sponsors who helped Dreams for Orphans raise $12,500 for children in need at the first annual Tour d'Orphans at Flywheel Seattle!
Moses Visits North Seattle Dental
Dreams for Orphans would like to thank Dr. Worstman from North Seattle Dental for helping Moses keep his award winning smile! She and her staff graciously donated their services to clean, x-ray, place sealant and complete two fillings. Moses couldn't have been more excited!
Moses Arrives in the United States
Moses is an orphan from Ghana who is being sponsored by Dreams for Orphans. After months of planning and hard work by the Dreams for Orphans staff, Moses has finally been able to come to the United States! He will be living with Dreams for Orphans founder Kary Doerfler and attending Seattle Central Community College - dreams do come true!
Delta pilots greet Moses as he makes his journey to the United States.
Edward Attends Ashesi University
Edward, an orphan sponsored by Dreams for Orphans, has received a full scholarship to attend Ashesi University! Ashesi is a college founded by Patrick Awuah from Seattle. Dreams for Orphans will be donating to the Ashesi foundation to cover Edward's room, board and insurance. We're so excited about this new partnership; it creates opportunities for so many more orphans to attend college!
Time for a Field Trip!
A group of Dreams for Orphans advocates visiting Ghana rented a bus and took 21 children from orphanage to Cape Coast to tour the slave castle. The kids sang, watched movies, had lunch and had a great time in the bus and on the tour! This event was led by: Kary Doerfler, Lexi Doerfler, Taylor Doerfler, Lisa Burke, Pat Burke, Jonathon Burke and Zak Burke.
United Way, Ghana Partnership
Dreams for Orphans is proud to announce our affiliation with United Way, Ghana. We have been working on this for many months and we are certain that with their support the Nursery project will swiftly move forward. UWG’s mission is to build community capacity for sustainable development in the areas of health, education and income generation through collaborative efforts of all stakeholders. We are excited to work side by side with such a reputable organization in order to execute our mission of improving the lives of orphans through building a safe environment and education. We look forward in the coming months to working with UWG and hope to share news of the developments, along with potential partners that may evolve.
